Continuation of my story, with Jake and Heath as actors on a nighttime soap opera.

Chapter Nine

Heath had not yet read any of the next week’s script.  In truth, he was almost afraid to, knowing that the much-anticipated scene between Ennis and Jack was in there.  He finished his coffee and did some light cleaning around the apartment to pass the time.  Finally, unable to put it off any longer, he grabbed the script and settled on the couch.  He flipped the pages until he found the first scene with Ennis and Jack and began to read:

“Ennis, you didn’t mean what you said yesterday, did you?”

“Yeah, I did.  I love you.”

“Stop saying that!”

“But, it’s true.  I’m in love with you, Jack.”

“But, Alma--”

“We broke up.  I didn’t tell her how I feel about you; I just told her that I didn’t wanna see her anymore.”

“This is crazy.”

“Yeah, it is.”

At that point, Ennis was supposed to kiss Jack.  The scene ended with that.  Heath could hardly believe what he was reading.  He had to kiss Jake, in front of everyone?  His stomach flip-flopped at the thought.

His phone rang then.  It was Jake.  “Oh, hey,” Heath said, sounding as relived as he felt.

“I know I said I’d call tomorrow,” Jake said, “but I couldn’t wait.  I needed to hear your voice.”

“I’m glad you called.”

“How’d it go with your folks?”

“Pretty good.  They said, as long as I was happy, that’s the important thing.  How’d your parents take the news?”

“They were cool about it, like I’d figured they’d be.  They really want to meet you.”

“Mm.  Someday.”

“Where are you right now?” Jake asked.

“I’m home,” Heath answered.

“Are you alone?”

“Of course I am.  Why?”

“Wanna have phone sex?”

Heath’s heart sped up again.  “But, your parents--”

“They’re in the kitchen.  I’m in my bedroom.  Come on, Heath, let’s do it.”

Heath could already feel his dick starting to get hard.  “Okay.”  He lay down on the couch and undid his pants.

“Tell me what you’re going to do to me,” Jake said.  “I love hearing you talk dirty.”

Heath closed his eyes.  He pictured Jake’s handsome face and perfect body.  “I’m gonna fuck you,” he said.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.  I’m gonna fuck you so good, baby.”

“Tell me how,” Jake said, breathlessly.

“Well, I’m gonna get you on your hands and knees, and then I’ll spread your sweet ass wide open with my hands.”

“I love your hands,” Jake said.

“Then, I’m gonna take my tongue and poke your hole, in and out, in and out, until you go crazy.”

“Oh, God, Heath.”

Heath could tell that Jake was jerking off.  He slid his pants down to his ankles and started doing the same.  “Then, when your good and wet, I’ll slick up my cock and stick it inside you.”

“Yeah, Heath, yeah.”

“I’ll fuck you all night long, until you beg for mercy,” Heath said.

“Ohhh,” Jake whined.

“My big ol’ cock will fuck your tight little ass over and over, make you come so hard…”

“I’m almost there…”

“You’ll come so hard, you’ll forget your own name.”

“Oh, Heath…!  I’m coming, baby…!”

Hearing Jake lose control made Heath lose it, as well, his dick jerking in his hand, his come splattering all over his belly and t-shirt.  “Oh, fuck,” he breathed.

“Jesus,” Jake said, “that was good stuff.”

“Next time, you do all the narration,” Heath said.

“You got it.”

Heath grabbed some tissues from a box on the table and began to clean himself up.  “I’m gonna have to put this shirt in the laundry,” he said.

“I miss you,” Jake told him.

“I miss you, too, babe.”

“I’ll be home tomorrow night.  Want to come over?”

“You bet,” Heath answered.  “Hey, have you read next week’s script yet?”

“No.  Why?”

“We’re supposed to kiss.”

“No way!” Jake exclaimed.

“Yep.  Well, Ennis is supposed to kiss Jack.”

“And what’s Jack’s reaction?” Jake asked.

“I haven’t read that far yet,” Heath replied.

“We can read it together, tomorrow.  How’s that?”

“Sounds good to me.”

“Okay.  I’ll call you when I get home.”

“All right.  Talk to you then.  ‘Bye.”

Heath hung up, his smile practically splitting his face in two.  He pulled up his pants and got up to throw away his sticky tissues.  On his way back to the living room, he looked out the window and down at the street.  It seemed to be clear of paparazzi, so he decided to got down and get something to eat.  First, he went to the bedroom and changed his shirt.

His favorite deli was only a block away.  Though he could tell that it was chilly outside, the sun was shining, so he didn’t put on a jacket.  He grabbed his sunglasses and headed out.

En route to the deli, he was stopped by a middle-aged woman, who asked for his autograph.  She held out a tabloid, its headline shouting ARE THEY LOVERS?, with pictures of him and Jake.  Heath wanted to refuse to sign it, but he took her pen and signed his name anyway.

“I don’t care if you are gay,” the woman gushed.  “I think you’re fabulous!”

“Uh, thanks,” Heath mumbled.  “Have a nice day.”  He hurried on his way.  Behind him, the woman called out, “You two make a cute couple!”  He groaned out loud.  He kept his head down the rest of the way.

Ten minutes later, he walked out of the deli with a sandwich and a drink.  Immediately, he heard a voice say, “Heath!  Over here!”  A man with a camera was a few feet away from him on the sidewalk.  “Heath!  What’s going on with you and Jake?”

Heath felt anger bubbling up inside of him.  Were his hands not full, he would’ve been  tempted to go after the guy, push him down, and break his camera.  Instead, he walked past him, saying, “Why don’t you just leave me alone, huh?”

“But, Heath, people want to know,” the guy said, following him.

“It’s none of your business!” Heath shouted.  He stormed away.  The guy kept taking pictures as he did so.  Great, Heath thought, now there’ll be stories about me losing my temper. Well, so be it.  Maybe it would make the paps think twice about approaching him in the future.  He couldn’t stop them from taking their pictures from a distance, but maybe he could stop them from getting so close to him.

Heath spent the rest of the weekend in the apartment, waiting for Jake to call.  On Sunday, when six o’clock rolled around, and Jake still hadn’t called, Heath began to get worried.  Had something happened to Jake?  Had he been in an accident?  Heath told himself to stop thinking about such things.  He turned on the TV, looking for a distraction, and found himself watching an entertainment news segment about Jake and himself.

“The plot thickens on the set of ‘Sunset Road’,” the reporter was saying.  “Not only are Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal supposedly a couple, but it looks like their characters, Ennis del Mar and Jack Twist, might be heading in the same direction.”

Heath changed channels until he got to a game show and left that on.  He tried focusing his attention on answering the questions on the show, but in the back of his mind, he was still wondering about Jake.  He kept his phone right beside him on the couch.

Finally, the phone rang, and it was Jake.  “Hey,” Heath said to him, “how was the trip home?”

“Lots of traffic,” Jake said.  “That’s why I’m late calling you.  You still want to come over?”

“Hell, yeah.  I’m dying to see you, baby.”

“Great.  I’m dying to see you, too.”

“I’ll be right over.”

A half hour later, Heath was at Jake’s door.  They fell into each other’s arms and kissed passionately, as if had been weeks since they’d last been together.  They made their way to Jake’s bedroom, shedding clothes along the way, until they were naked and on the bed.

“God, I missed you,” Heath said, his hands roaming over Jake’s body.  Moments later, he had rolled a condom onto his dick and was exactly where he wanted to be - inside of Jake.  As they drove each other to bliss, the words Heath had kept hidden came spilling out:  “I love you…I love you so much…”

“Fuck, Heath,” Jake gasped.  “I love you, too.”
